Someone please tell me I'm not going mad.

The icons on my desktop were never able to zoom in and out/larger smaller in 5 years of using SL 10.6.8 on the MBP. So why now when I touched the pad are my desktop icons able to do this?

I know you can adjust them on 'view options' for desktop, but why only now has this happened that they're adjustable by the two finger zoom in and out on the desktop? Is there a lock on it that's undone or something? I've not changed anything.

Only recently downloaded Firefox/Chrome, if that's in any way relevant

My guess is that you have activated zoom in the Accessibility panel of System preferences.

Only place is Universal Access, that has a Zoom, but that's off.. Weird this has never done it before.
