Icons disappeared!

My icons are disappearing. Apps I download dont have icons and when I throw them in the trash the trash icon on the dock disappears. Also, when I plug in a flash drive or external drive, no icon shows up, just text. My folders that have custom icons are blank now too

How do I fix this?

Sounds like you have Dock and Finder issues. You could try fresh plist files for both.

Go to Home/Library/Preferences and find these:
com.apple.dock.plist
com.apple.finder.plist

Move those to your Desktop
Restart (this will make new default plists in Preferences)
