I just got my new iMac and for some reason I can't get my icons to line up like in grid form and not on top of each other when i open a new finder window. When I open a finder window the icons are scattered everywhere and not lined up so they are not on top of each other.

I right click in the window and chose show view options, and then I configured it to arrange to Snap to Grid but that does not fix it. I want it to do it automatically. I must have forgot how to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

Ok I figured it out myself. The solution in case any of you want to know my mistake was not to choose arrange snap to grid. I needed to choose by name only. Too simple. Guess I am tired. I overlooked the easy solution.

Anyway now I remember. This thread can now be closed.
