Icons suddenly appearing on home screen.

Not sure if this is the area to request info/help on this but just recently lots of the install icons (wrong term?) appear on my home screen. I eject them and then a few hours later they return. Picassa, Java, etc. appear multiple times, don't know what I done to cause this.

Thanks for any help, sorry if wrong terminology for the "icons".
