Is there some way to use any image as a icon? For example some of my movies and CD's (not pirated) on my computer just have the quicktime logo for the icon. Can I create my own? does my mac have this feature?

Thanks, (Im learning more every day on my iMac and every day I am more and more impressed)

You can using an app like Pic2Icon.

Once the icon is created just copy it (Cmd+C), select the app or file you want to assign the new icon, get info (Cmd+i), select the icon in the upper left corner (see attached image), and paste (Cmd+v).
