this is mostly a rant, had an iphone 4 activated on at&t for almost one year, sold it on ebay, put the sim in my old n95 8gig, which gets unlimited internet for only $15 a month ... nice!! :)
anyway, i saw my original iphone sitting there and decided to put the sim in it, itunes said i needed to call to activate it ... called at&t and they said i had to go to the store and show 2 forms of id to activate it, of course the phone had been activated when i first bought it, in my name which was almost 4 years ago?
i can't believe that i have to go to a store, show TWO forms of id, to activate my old iphone .. apple does NOT make it easy to be a customer of theirs, do they? since i am the original owner, i would think they could just match the imei and activate it over the phone with no problems ... guess i'm wrong in that respect.
to continue with my rant, i have a bright spot in the middle of my 4s screen, verizon CAN NOT replace it, i have to jump through apples hoops and barrels to get anything done to replace it and apple wants to put over $700 on a credit card to send me a new one, then they will return the money when they get my phone back. i will say there is the option to go to an apple store but they are few and far between where i live unfortunately a. :(
the last option, is to return the phone and go without one until they send me a replacement ... great choices and i know it's not their fault that i don't live close to an apple store ... or is it? ;)
i guess i am used to verizon, or at&t, replacing a phone in-store with no problems. i should have realized that the almighty apple, control freaks that they are, was calling the shots on returns!!!!!
rant mode off, lol ... just wanted to vent a little about how 'tight' apple is with their policies ... live and learn ... live and learn!!!
