Hello,
Am I right in thinking that Leopard adds support for any Optical drive? I.E it doesn't have to have an apple rom in it can be a drive such as this: http://www.dabs.com/products/best-v...7J.html?refs=4294953229-4294959720-4294957178
I want to upgrade the Optical drive in a Powermac G4 and heard ages ago that you had to buy an Optical drive with an apple rom in such as the pioneer dvr 108 but cant find that for sale anywhere in the UK :(
If I do have to buy an one made for mac please may you suggest an option to use?

Thanks Chris

the only IDE optical drive I couldn't get to work with my macs was an HP CD-RW drive. It's not a dinosaur, actually. It was built in '06, so I have no clue why it doesn't work.

Any good name brand should work. I personally prefer LITE-ON.
