What I think would be awesome is if I could choose between iOS and Android and maybe a few other open-source mobile OSes.

Something like this:

I get a new iPhone at an Apple store. The Genius asks me what mobile OS I want on my phone. I tell him I want the Android OS. He kindly says Apple's warranty does not apply to any damages that occur when the phone is running an OS other than iOS. He also tells me that I can switch OSes by plugging the phone into iTunes and selecting another OS. I can load any operating system, but first I should ensure that the build is compatible with my iPhone.

yeah you would think that they would make it work like a computer because essentially they are computers but apple wants that %30 of app sales.

Much more importunely is Apple wants you to buy Apps so you are "stuck" in the ecosystem and won't buy a different brand of hardware device next time.;)

"I have too many Apps bought in iOS to change to a Samsung device"
