iPod touch Idea for iPod touch headphones

The little rubber ring around the headphones could be replaced with a touch sensor, which by settings could be enabled to only play music when it detects touch from your ears, automatically pausing the music when you take them out and resuming when putting them back in.

Thoughts?

Thats actually a really good idea. Except the touch sensors might make it really bulky.

I use my blackberry headphones with this feature....apple makes that type of headphones for the ipod shuffle (past generations) you could start stop music, volume up/down and other stuff. i think you can buy those headphones but they come in apple prices u know what i mean
