To whomever it may concern,

I am the first person to think of this idea and publish it on the Internet time-stamped. Please use freely.

I have an idea for the Macbook Pro keyboard.

Make the sides of the macbook pro keys transparent acrylic black so that no hairs or dust can fall under there and let the light shine through the black transparent acrylic to create the same backlit keyboard effect.

I don't know much about this kind of stuff, but isn't the gap also for airflow?

I'm curious how you expect this to prevent dust from falling through?

You will still need the gap, so the keys can be pressed, or they would have to be contained via a membrane, such which is easily worn or damaged.

Furthermore this would impair the structural integrity of the unibody: you would be adding unnecessary parts.

It is also inherently impossible for something to be both transparent and black.

ok so it's not an all encased acryllic solution , but it will prevent the hairs and stuff from getting to the logic board.
