I have been trying to optimize my work environment and one of the things I examined was the sitting distance from my M1 iMac. While researching I came across this website: https://www.esportstales.com/tech-tips/ideal-distance-to-sit-away-from-your-monitor

My iMac sits about 45cm away from me. At this distance I can sit comfortably and my viewing field covers the whole screen. What about you? How far away do you sit from your iMac?

I guess it's different for everyone. Different vision, different desks, different setup. 65cm would be a bit far for me. I think 45-50cm (maybe 55) is perfect for me. Important is that the eyes can see the whole display without a lot of movement.

Honestly if I go too close I start to hear the coil whine so it’s better at least 50cm

It's the iMac whistling, it means it's having a good time
