What are the ideal temperature and fan speed for a MacBook Pro like mine?
Assuming I'm just surfing the web, watching an HD video on Youtube, etc.
(See signature for details on my MacBook)

Also has anyone else having problems with Google Chrome and it causing the temp. to get very high?

I'm just making sure they're might not be problem with anything. I recently had a problem with the fans suddenly going about 3000/4000 RPM until I replaced them. I'm just double checking.

 Let me get this right, you replace your fans because they were doing their job? ???

Are you minoring CPU temps somehow, or just guessing?
With or without external display attached? What CPU load?
All of those will affect cpu and/or gpu temps, and raise fan speeds.

Why did you replace the fan???

My temperatures hover between 10-15 celcius. Anything higher than that and your laptop is likely to explode!

If your computer is "on" it is running at the ideal temperature for whatever you're doing.

This is the ideal way to describe how Apple views it. No matter how warm, or hot, it's just fine.

If not it's designed to shut itself off. What a concept.

I've yet to have one of my PC Laptops run hot and shut off :)

How in the world is the temp that low? And it says your battery has 571 hours left. Something must be wrong haha

Really cold environment, waking from sleep after being asleep for a few hours and immediately opening iStats.

*Notice the blur used to cover his network information. It is weather info. showing -8º and snowing.

That's my guess anyway.

That "571 hours remaining" is showing how long until his battery is fully charged. If you look you will see it is reporting that it is plugged in. Most likely wrong though. lol
