Hi all.

I am a college Film/Video student who wants a cheap surround sound setup for Final Cut/Soundtrack pro (since pro tools HD is incredibly expensive). I'm mainly a colorist/editor, but want to get my feet wet with post audio. Some have recommended the Logitech Z-5500, but I'm hesistant since it's logitech.

I have a mac pro (my rig is in my sig) and just want a basic setup that is inexpensive. <$500. I just bought a griffin firewave, a firewire to 6 channel over 3.5 mm jacks breakout box.

Drexel has a post sound room, but I'm a commuter with an hour train ride in, and I really don't feel like schlepping all my hard drives down there. I didn't post this in the digital audio thread because they would chew me up, and I'm really an editor. Thanks!
