i've got a sawtooth. 350mhz. i want to put it out of the way, hooked up to the router. and then be able to control it from the laptop.

is there a way i can do this? i've heard of vpn, but i don't know what that is. i'm game to using a form of linux over panther, which is what's on the sawtooth already.

this isn't a pressing concern, but if anyone has an idea, i'd appreciate it.

ARD is VNC, its just a bit more simple to use.

I don't know that it's quite as simple as that. You can do lots of fairly advanced things in ARD that you cannot do in any regular old VNC.

Although even though you can enable the ARD server on a machine, how exactly do you view it? Tiger doesn't come with an ARD client afaik.

You buy an ARD manager, or you can use a plain-jane VNC client to view your ARD server. So, essentially, everybody already has a VNC server installed on their system.

i'm going to try chicken of the vnc.

thanks much for your help. i appreciate it. i'll let you know if it works

are there settings that i have to change on the server?

i'm trying to connect, but unsure as to how
