I purchased this poster recently. Can anyone give me any information on the poster as well as what it might be worth? Thanks!

It's only worth what someone will pay, so to assess its value you have to find a marketplace for it. The only one I can think of is eBay, where people ask all kinds of prices for these things. So I searched for "apple ii posters original" and limited the results to completed auctions. I think you could maybe sell it for $20-$50.

I'm more interested in why the logo is slightly different in color than the typical logos of that era...
Agreed. Did they test different designs, or change? Special promotion? If this is an early/prototype, it could be more rare and valuable...if you find the right collector.

The IIe and IIc behind my desk have the normal rainbow logo.

My first thought, too. But seeing that the sold one looks „off“, not to say fake, too, probably means it’s real? It’s definitely crooked anyway.

From what I've found after a brief search, the poster promoted the Apple ][ at the 1977 West Coast Computer Faire, where the computer debuted. If you search "Apple ][ poster 1977" and not Apple ][ logo, you'll see some examples. Maybe Apple (or their printer) just blew it on printing these posters or something happened at the last minute. If so, I can't imagine Steve Jobs was too happy with that. ;-) So if there was a bad print run maybe the poster you've got was kept by someone, like an Apple employee, rather than being good enough to be shown to the public. That's the only reason I can think of why two different posters owned by different people have similar colors.

But I assume the yellow inks in the poster faded more than the cyan and magenta over the years, which would account for the top stripe of color being light blue rather than green, and the yellow & orange stripes being basically shades of red. As the colors are really not vibrant, and they all look muted, I'm going to go with that assumption - that this poster was getting window light for many years and the inks faded.
