So Users/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup....... this is where the iOS Backups are housed locally. My iPad failed an update and I did not backup right before, I know. Come to find out I need some files that were on it........ I have Time Machine however all of these file names are not anything I can easily identify. If there a way to easily identify which backup is a iPhone VS an iPad. iTunes won't work to do this as I had to delete some backups when temporarily going to a smaller SSD machine, so I left the phone ones on and the iPad ones off........ I'm in a pickle. Any help is appreciated. TY.

It looks like the backup file name is based off the UDID of the device. Look at my screenshot.

Connect the phone to iTunes and go to the Summary tab then click the serial number. That will reveal the UDID. Then match that up to the file in Finder or Time Machine to find the one you want.

Not sure why I never realized this. Thank You. Letting it hunt thru the backups for that UDID. I suspect I may have an old backup to a prior iPad in there too however I have no clue what that UDID would be. o_O
