Hi,

I have a Canon Powershot A560 and Tiger 10.4.11 on my ibook (PPC). I connect the camera to the ibook via USB. iphoto and image capture can read camera and its images and I can transfer them on my hard drive.

However, I would like to know the mount point (i.e. in the terminal) to my camera. Even when it's open on iphoto or image capture, I cannot find the camera and its mount point. It is not listed in /volumes. I looked in my console log, didn't mention anything related to the camera.

thanks,
keyshawn

You are using PTP protocol

It looks like your camera is using PTP protocol for image transfers. See wikipedia for details:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picture_Transfer_Protocol

Basically, if you want to see a mount point, you need to switch
you camera from PTP protocol to USB mass storage. It may or may not be possible depending on a camera. I don't know if A560 supports mass storage USB protocol. On my Nikon D40x, there is an option to do that. On my Kodak camera (I don't remember exact model), only PTP is available, so I have to use an SD card reader to access the card directly.
I hope this helps...
