When I have my .Mac iDisk turned on (even if I set the sync to "manual"), it takes significantly longer to boot-up, and after logging in, I get the rainbow pinwheel for a good 10-15 seconds, sometimes longer. Same thing for shutdown -- I get the "clock" for a good 10-15 seconds.
Is this par for the course when mounting an iDisk, or can I do something to keep the Mac booting quickly WITH the iDisk turned on? If the iDisk is off, the Macbook boots pretty much instantaneously after log-in. Maybe 3-4 seconds. Likewise, shutdown is lightning-quick.
I'm running a 2.2GHz Macbook with 1MB RAM, Leopard 10.5.1
Regardless, Leopard is better and faster than Vista.
thanks!!
