I am trying to backup my iTunes library on my MobileMe iDisk and I have 500 songs or 2.02 GB. But, it's been going on for 1 1/2 hours and it's only at 209 MB out of 2.02 GB. Is this normal? It seems agonizingly slow. Should I quit and try it again?

Well.

Is there any app that will let me make my music files smaller so it won't take as long?

Well if you further decrease the quality of the music then files get smaller (which I do not suggest you do). Otherwise, that's the only way you can do it.

Aparently if you use third-party apps like Transmit it's a lot faster. Tried it, but I don't feel like paying for it.

Will that app (Transmit) transfer music/documents from my Mac to the iDisk? Is it a lot faster? How much does it cost? Link?
