Idling computer: Spikes in Activity Monitor?

Hm.. the computer is idling with only Activity Monitor running and I still see spikes in disk activity (writes) in Activity Monitor.

Numbers under "hard drive activity" right after boot:
Read: 735.9 MB
Write: 44.9 MB

... after 10 min (idling)
Read: 830.2 MB
Write: 170.8 MB

... and after 60 min (idling)
Read: 1312.9 MB
Write: 932.3 MB

I'm worried because SSD's has limited number of writes.

Spotlight is not indexing.
