Hey guys, quick iDVD question.

I love how simple iDVD is to use, but the file formats it accepts (or doesnt' accept I should say) is rediculous. I have a file in MPEG format, and I'm forced to convert it to a format iDVD will accept (such as MP4), only to have it convert the file back to MPEG for the DVD. That is craziness.

Am I missing something here? What's the best video format to add movie files into iDVD to minimize iDVDs encoding time? Because iDVDs encoding time is SLOOOW, even on my 2.16Ghz C2D MacBook Pro with 2GB of RAM...

Thanks all.

MPEG does not mean much. Which MPEG is your file, MPEG1, MPEG2 or MPEG4?

iDVD accepts DV as well.

Yeah, sorry about that should have specified. I'm honestly not even sure. The clips were originally captured on a Sony DVD Handycam and were pulled off the DVD using the Sony software on a PC. My guess would be MPEG-2. I've opened the clips up in VLC and went to the Info panel, but it just says "mpgv" under Codec.
