Alright, I have a new 13" macbook pro, the newest version of iDVD and Snow Leopard. This is my first computer capable of burning dual layer DVD's. I have never had a problem before burning DVD's. Every DVD I have ever burned worked exactly like it was designed in iDVD.

However, now, I have made rather large project hoping to take advantage of more disk space. The size is perfectly fine, at just under 5gb. The project consists of approximately 20 clips ranging from 2-15 minutes. Each clip is accessed through a button on one of the menus. One main menu, 5 sub menus. Only about half of the clips actually work though.

This is the third time I have attempted to burn this project, the first two had damaged areas and would not load much of the menus, now this third one works perfectly fine, other then when you select one of the "bad" clips, it just stalls out and eventually causes the DVD player to restart. I have tried it in this MBP, my G5 and a normal JVC DVD player.

The project works perfectly fine in the iDVD preview, so I'm not really sure what the deal is. It seems weird that all 3 attempts have failed. This last attempt seems to work fine, but it seems like the "bad," clips are missing, almost like they are on the second layer and the player can't find them.

I am using Memorex DVD+R DL 8x disks.

Would possibly changing the encoding from "best performance," to Professional Quality or High Quality matter? It appears that on professional quality the project would be nearly half the size.
