I have 4.7 GB blank DVD-Rs but, iDVD only seems to give you the option of burning single-layer 4.2 GB or double-layer 7.7 GB. Movies wont quite fit unless I adjust the encoding quality.

If I am understanding this correctly it would be like itunes only allowing you to burn a 72 minute/650 MB CD on an 80 minute/700 MB CD.

Is this a hardware issue? (I have a 2.4 MBP)
Or should I be using a different program?

By the way, if there is no easy solution, should I switch the encoding quality from "Best Performance" to "High Quality" or "Professional Quality". I don't understand the difference between the two.

Or... is there a simple program that can cut a divx program into two pieces?

Sorry for being long winded. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)
