I have vidoes I converted from WMV format using Flip4Mac into .mov format, and they have following specs (320 x 240, Codecs: Windows media audio 9 and video 8, channel count 2 and total bitrate 2464)

I created a project in iDVD with 3 of these videos using 16.9 ratio and High Quality video setting. I then burned them to a Maxwell DVD-R 16x disk. It took almost 3 hours to encode and burn.

I tried playing it in my macbook with dvd player after and the title menu comes up, but when I click on the movie i want it does not play and DVD player has error. So then i tried it in a dvd player on my tv and same thing.

After this I saved the project to disk image to check it, videos were there and played with NO audio. I am not very good with choosing bitrate, and all that, just want to put these on DVD.

Does anyone know what i am doing wrong??? I am re-trying using iDVD magic and creating disk image first, with Best Performance Quality instead of high quality. Hope it works, but until then can some one help me understand this stuff better, or point me where to look. Thanks

OK, well trying in best performance didn't work either, disk image completed but no sound with videos.

So I looked at Flip4mac settings, I am going to 'export' instead of save as and i changed some things.

Compressor settings: (H.264) i left this alone
Compressor Quality: (High) left alone
Encoding (Best Quality) Left alone
Data Rate: (Auto) left alone

In export, I changed dimensions from 320 x 240 to NTSC 720 X 480 16.9, and the sound was default set as rate 44.100khz and size 16bit.

I am going to export all these in this fashion to see if it helps. My next question is instead of that, should i maybe change which format Quicktime "saves" in if I do a save as? Instead of .mov, something else and maybe do audio separate? I don't know anything about this stuff.

Also along with Flip4mac i have pro version of quicktime, i think quicktime uses the saves as to convert as i did before, which the movies play fine in quicktime after, just problems in iDVD, and flip4mac uses the export option.

Ok well just tried to use an AVI video that i converted from .mov. Same thing. everything is good until iDVD creates disk image or burns the video is there, but no audio at least in the disk image. I dont know what to do now
