Ok... I imported video from my canon hg10 vc into imovie 08 and then was going to drag the clips for burning. I know the project was to big so I choose professional quality in project info. This brought me to 3.6GB on a single layer DVD. When i go to burn however this is what it says

Burning preperation error
not enough free disk space to encode the remaining assets.

I have looked for a tutorial but to no avail. under that it also says

iDVD needs 7.511 GB of disk space to encode the remaining assets, but only 5.001 GB is available at "Macintosh HD".

Any idea's as I am new to this.

2nd question.
I also bought FCE4 and loaded the program how ever it is not recognizing my Canon HG10 Hard drive even though the hard drive pops up on the desktop. Insight with this also please

Thanks all

It sounds like you need to free up more space on the main hard drive of your machine. Running that low on free space can create other problems as well. The program needs HD space to do its thing and burn your DVD. I'd do a backup and get your main HD lean and mean again.

BTW i also have the HG10, great camera :) I do not have FCE4 though, I use iMovie exclusively.
