hey all

i have a series of episodes in videos, and in iDVD would like to create a 'Play' button on the main screen so i can play the episodes in succession. I have all the episodes (7 of them) in seperate files, so when i click 'add movie' it only allows me to add one. i read that you might have to put all the episodes together in iMovie, then seperate them to make it work for the Play/Chapter Selection in iDVD, is this true?

sorry, kinda in a rush, hope u get what im saying :S :p

thanks in advance!

Yes, it's true. In iMovie, just put each episode clip into your timeline and then put chapter markers at the beginning of each clip (Markers > Add Chapter Marker). When you import into iDVD, these will become separate chapters but the main menu play button will play each chapter in sucession.

Yeah, that time is being taken by converting the incoming file into DV Stream. If you can your clips into that format beforehand, they should import much faster. At least, as far as I know. :)

its up to 4 out of 7, so ill wait :p just wondering, the total content of videos is 1.79 gigs, but when i had added them to iDVD beforehand, it said there was not enough space, whats up there? is it because before it is converted into DV stream, it takes up much more space? thanks!

ok i converted them in iMovie, took about 4 hours, now what i did was clicked each video individually and added a Chapter Marker. i saved it, and added it in iDVD. However when i preview it, its a white screen and its all jarbled, i can hear the speaking but its accelerated, did it not copy right? thanks!

ok i found the error to that problem, it was jarbled and not working properly, because Quicktime did not have the DivX codec installed at the time (ive been playing it in MPlayer since beginning) so ive installed the codec and its working. However i have an issue:

- ive been told that most DVDs out there in the market (whether it be movies, shows etc) are dual layer. Meaning that its dual layer on one side, and thats why we see a 'skip' when watching the movie. This can take up to 8 gigs of storage, and my current project is larger than a normal DVD (4 gigs) Is it true that you buy a dual layer disc, but u dont physically 'flip it' half way through watching something?

also, if this is the case, i have a MacBook Pro 15", and no dual layer burner, so i can not burn it. What would my options be? buy an external dvd burner that works with my Mac? buy an external case, hook up my dual layer burner from my Windows box, and hope Mac OS X supports it? or is there any way i can get it to burn on my Windows Box, however it being an iMovie production?

thanks in advance! :)

Play all button

I have a task, to do a dvd movie with 5 films, separately, and have play all button same time. I use FCP 7.0 and IDVD 7.2.1 What would you advice?
My bae also some suggestions about using my own simple background design?
thanks in advance
