iDVD run on Lion upgrade?

I have a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard. I have put off upgrading to Lion because I heard I could not use my iDVD anymore. The guy at the Apple store yesterday told me I still could use my iDVD, that downloading and installing Lion would not erase iDVD and it would work normally.

I understand that iDVD is not being supported anymore, but I assume that would still be there case if I was running Snow Leopard, too.

So, am I safe putting Lion on my computer? All my programs will run normally?
