I am interested in doing video podcast and was wondering if I really need Final Cut. Would iDVD do the job?

How about for pictures on a regular web site. Is Aperature really needed?

Many thanks for your advice.

imovie and garageband are great for podcasting, i dont really see why you would need to use idvd though, thats for burning dvds.

Thanks...

I am really new to creating content and appreciate your help.

Does Final Cut add enough value over iMovie to video iPod creation to make it worth the price?

Regarding photos: does iPhoto do image manipulation, or should I consider Aperature?

Thanks again!

I'd start out with iMovie, iPhoto and Garageband and see if they are good enough for you before spending a lot of money on other programs.

final cut is great and also comes with soundtrack pro which is also great for podcasting but they do have quite a learning curve so get to grips with ilife and if you feel your needs outgrow what they can give you then pop into an apple store and watch a demo on final cut or something.
