iDVD will not burn DVDs

I have been trying to make a DVD with iDVD using a dual layer disk and iDVD will render and what not and do all the steps. It gets to the last setp and says DONE but with 45 or so minutes left. The DVD comes out and it says done but it still has time left and still counts down. Never burns anything on the dvd. I dont know if there is a way to fix this or how I can reinstall iDVD. Any help is greatful.
