IE keeps crashing

I would appreciate if someone could please help me.

I only kept Internet Explorer incase I needed it (usually use safari). Everytime I goto launch it, the program crashes. I tried deleting preferences, cache, etc (think I did it right) and I am still having the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Can you toss the whole thing altogether and reinstall IE?

I have found that I don't need it for anything. If for some reason a page will not load properly on Safari, I just go to Firefox and as a last resort, Netscape. I havent used IE since Safari was introduced.

I deleted the preferences from the user side. I tried trashing it (think I found everything that needed to be trashed) and reinstalling didn't do anything. Maybe I missed something when trashing it? appreciate the help.
