I was trying to view a friend's web page that won't appear on Firefox. When I try to open Internet Explorer, it just locks up. It never loads the homepage. Is it out of date already?

This is on my PPC 1.67 Powerbook.

You'll notice that the Get Info box says Microsoft 1995-2001.

IE for the Mac has been discontinued for nearly 5 years and that it locks up on your Mac is no surprise. The last version of Mac OS that it was supposed to run on was OS 9, and maybe OS X 10.1. Try using Safari to view the page you are talking about.
The only time I ever use IE is if a site absolutely postively requires it (which is pretty much never).

Thanks! That's pretty much what I thought.
