iExplorer - safe? user friendly?

I have an iPhone voicemail center full of messages from my grandchildren... I want to save them to use later in a video of their growing years... but I need the voicemail space NOW.... Is iExplorer safe to download and open? Has anyone had issues with it? Ease of use? Any advice for this computer novice? thank you
