CANADA? eh?
You all know that 2007 was all about the iPhone....and how it changed technology and was the greatest phone in the history of the world...

Now is 2008 all about the Mac or iPod?

whats ur predictions?

2008 is the year of the Mac :)

The number of Mac users in my year at school is spiraling. By the end of the year, most people in my year will have Macs...

I think this year you're going to see iPhone technology leaking into macs (always on internet, maybe even GPS in laptops).

You're going to see the line blurred between Mac and Apple TV (Blu-ray support for both macs and apple TV, more computer functions in Apple TV).

And the line between desktops and laptops may be blurred as well with the new docking station (though this seems less likely)

Overall I think 2008 will be the year of INTEGRATION.

While I voted for the Mac, I actually believe this is going to be the year of convergence so trumpeted in the 80s and 90s, but never actualized. 2008 will be the year when we begin the process of dissolving our concepts of platform. Soon enough, the platforms will be transparent, but that is a few years down the road yet. Anyway, that will be the focus of 2008, and the iPhone, iPod touch, BBC iPlayer, iTMS video and music, AppleTV and HD Macs were only a hint of what is to come. Apple was smart to change their name.

EDIT: Having been writing while the post above this was sent, I would also like to agree with much of what Wordmunger said.

I think that Blu-Ray will come to the MP as a bto option, but no other Apple products. Apple want to avoid optical media, not promote it.

I think we'll see the lines between computers and TV become blurred. People will be using their TV's more as their computers, and their computers used more as TV's. Being a true couch potato is great, and be a couch potato on the road is even better!

Agreed. Literally all my friends except one have Macs now.

Lucky you, I have to deal with their breaky PCs. Only two close friends have switched :(

Fortunately I've switched almost all of my family, bar my mum who claims not to have the money, but is really just putting it at the bottom of her list.

I say it will be the year of the Mac. There is a reason why the Mac Mini, Mac Pro, MacBook Pro, and Cinema Displays have not been updated for some time :) And who knows what will go down with the rumored ultraportable.
