If 3G Was Coming Out Today,

It would've gone down by now, and just about ready to go back up, only to go down about 10mins later due to traffic.
Apple wouldn't silently bump the iPhone. Is a rediculous suggestion. The second version of the iPhone = LARGE keynote presentation, at WWDC on the 9th, or a press conference before then, which would require the press to be fore warned. The website for Apple woulnd't just give the stats out to the new iPhone and say, shipping soon.
Apple may well do teaser info, or just pull iPhone material, and temporarily place WWDC info on the site, then once the keynote is over, put up the new info on the new iPhone.
I'm not so sure about that. If the only change is 3G & GPS, how boring of a press conference would that be....
"Hey Guys...Guess what? Today apple is VERY proud to announce that we launching a phone that catches up on two year old technology, that almost every other PDA already has! And guess what? We're going to charge you TWICE as much!"
Now if the iPhone 2.0 has a new form, new features unique to 2.0 (video chat?), and something with a WOW factory....then yes, keynote the hell out of it.
But apple has NEVER made a big to-do about spec-only updates.
So if something is announced this week....it'll just give us 3g.
If something isn't announced...expect a more exciting phone.

Apple aren't stupid enough to only put 3g on as it is a relatively small market that really want it on! GPS, improved camera and a couple of exciting features as t0mat0 said will be there!

A 32GB hard drive would be a BIG downgrade.
I think he meant a HD would be a big downgrade since iPhone currently has flash memory. It was a joke playing on your slip up of calling it a 32GB Hard Disk lol
