I have never owned an iPad before. Since my laptop is on its last legs, I'm looking to replace it with one. However, since it's over half the March to March release cycle, I was going to use the laptop a little bit more before jumping on an iPad 4. Heard of some rumors that maybe a refreshed iPad 3 with the new lightning connector (and maybe even an A6 processor) could be released alongside the rumored iPad Mini.

So, would you buy one if it was released in the next month?

I would. But in your case, since you plan to use iPad as the replacement for a laptop, I would advise you to think twice. Depending on your particular needs, iPad may or may not be able to replace a laptop.

I have a desktop here already. So it will be a secondary portable device.
