I think it'll be better on launch day. At least this gives Apple and AT&T an idea of what to expect. Now, they have 9 days to work their magic.

Many, many folks who have "successfully" reserved an iPhone have actually got one waiting at a store, but Apple did NOT successfully verify your upgrade status, ie. how much you need to pay. They WILL need to do that on the day of launch when you pick up the phone so these busted servers will not only need to be working, they will need even greater ability to handle a load much LARGER than today's preorder.
