With the App Store on the phone , you open & app updates are shown. Press update etc & the app is updated (unless auto update is switched on & then obviously does for you)

Now when there's a s/ware update for an app that's got its own native Watch app , how are you notified of updates & how do you update them ?

Are you notified via a notification on the app badge on watch etc , or is it still all done via phone ?

If you have the app on the watch & phone , is it a case of one isn't updated without the other , so as soon as you update on phone it does Watch at same time ?

What if you have app on watch , but not on phone. How are updates handled then ?

Sorry for all the questions but mine arrives soon & just curious.

Cheers

The watch app currently is only delivered by an iPhone app and only updated when the iPhone app is.

You aren't notified or anything on the watch about updated apps by the frameworks, individual developers may be able to do this within the app, but the notification for updates appears as an iPhone update.

Many thanks for your quick reply , that answers my query perfectly. Much appreciated.
