If Apple had a search engine would you use it, and what will it be called?

I believe it will be called, iSearch, Finder, Finder search.

And I love google too much to leave them.

Because "Results that are only what WE think you should be looking for" and "Anal retentive babysitter" has that oh so naughty "a" word in it, maybe "iDictator" would be suitable for Apple's regime, if they were going for the truth in advertising concept.

And for the record, I don't believe that Apple would ever make a search engine. It's not in their business model whatsoever. Granted, iAd isn’t either, but it's more appropriate seeing as their the ones giving developers the tools to make the apps running iAd in the first place.

That being said, don't expect a search engine from Apple anytime soon. I'd say that if there's any market they'll be entering in the future, it'll be more television-based.

I'd call it waloshin. Then I'd design a cute little mascot and call him Wally.

I can't say I'd use it if Apple did bring one out without using it first. I don't use yahoo or bing because their initial first impression sucked, and I get what I want out of Google quickly. Maybe I'm too used to the results I get from Google?

I'd have to try it out to see if I'd use it, but I'd guess they'd use either "Spotlight" or "Genius" as the name of the search, given how prevalent those two already are with Apple. Genius Search or Spotlight Search Engine have an Apple sound to them.

Spotlight to find things on your Mac would stay.

For the internet, SearchLight perhaps?

I would use it if it was good, not because it be Apple's search engine.

HA, love it.

I just don't have much reason to move away from Google. They're not perfect but their search engine pretty much is.

I'd have to see results first before I can say if I'd use it or not. I'd give it a good try. I don't use Google as it is and would love to see the company die a horrible cash-hemorrhage death. Well, so long as they keep Voice and Analytics :D

Apple's game of "dictatorship" as I think someone up there mentioned, wouldn't be at all successful in the search arena, so that is a completely, utterly moot point.

Apple's built enough credibility that I'd certainly give it a try. I'm also enough of a shameless fanboy that I'd probably use it and rationalize away any weaknesses in the product.

And I will never... never use Bing.

What a freakin' fanboy.
