... won't that mean you don't have to activate it, and you can just jailbreak it like the 1ST gen iPhone? or, Do you have to give your details to o2 as once you go into iTunes it'll say activated or Do you give your details to iTunes? :p

my mate just got his back from carphone warehouse - it came sealed and already activated.

  • Give his details e.g payment details to the people and then they activated for him?
  • Did he get his iPhone 3G and have to go home and activate it?

No, he bought his online. He chose the tarriff, etc... online, and it came sealed with an external sim card that he had to put in. Then he plugged it in and it synced his music and stuff.
