If I bought AppleCare with my 4S and now want a 5, what happens?

What happens to my AppleCare now that I will likely sell my 4S on Craigslist and get a 5? Can it transfer to the new device I'm buying (unlikely, I know)? Any tips?

You can't transfer it, but you can cancel it and apple will sent you a prorated refund. Then just use that refund to buy apple care for the 5. They send the refund in the form of a check.

You can get a refund for the unused portion of the plan (less a fee) on the 4s that is remaining but you need to get a new plan for the new product.
