I have gotten sick of iTunes 7 because every time it switches to another song, it freezes my computer for a few seconds, which gets extremely annoying (WMP doesn't seem to have this problem).

But, I recently updated the firmware on my iPod using iTunes 7. So if I downgrade to iTunes 6.0 and then attempt to update my iPod, will it mess up my iPod?

Thanks.

Possibly give apple a call and ask them. Itunes 7 really isn't that bad, and I think you'll have a problem in the future using an old version of itunes.
