How fast is 3G? Or will I get edge?
Also how can I get the 30 dollar plan with 100 min unlimited data and 5 gb on the iPhone 4. The lady at t mobile told me I can only get that plan online. And one more question how much is the activation fee? Thanks

It depends on whether you live in a refarmed area or not. Check out the map at airportal.de to determine. If you are not in a refarmed area, you will get mostly EDGE. If you get 3G signals, it would range from 1-10 Mbps depending on how strong it is, but it will guarantee be a whole lot better than EDGE. Currently, only the iPhone 5 that was just released by T-mobile supports their AWS band.

Source: Had an unlocked iPhone 4 on T-Mobile.

You will only get 3G aka faux 4G if you live in an area that TMobile has refarmed the 1900 mhz to 3g. Even then the coverage is very spotty and inconsistent and will probably fall back to Edge most of the time.

If you want to switch to T Mobile and get reliable 4G then get the new TMobile iPhone 5.

iPhone 4 will not even get faux-G, it only has HSPA, not HSPA+.
