if I highlight and lift or copy just the image of my cat from one photo, how do I paste it to another photo?

for example, cat is in photo 1. I press and hold on the cat and copy. it lifts just the image of the cat from the photo. what do I need to do to paste the cat in to photo 2 which is an image the beach. (so the cat will end up on the beach)

hope I'm making sense.... I just don't know how to do this on the iPhone without having to use any other apps.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Which 3rd party apps do you use for this?
I’m still testing some out—there are so many photo editing apps, and I just want to do something simple without paying an annual subscription. Hoping someone will chime in with a good suggestion. Canva is the best option I’ve found so far, and you can do it with the free tier. However, it doesn’t seem to support the iOS share menu that pops up when you use the cutout feature; rather, you have to copy and paste. Not a dealbreaker but not the easiest option.

Somewhat unrelated: Have you tried Sticker Drop? It’s like 3 bucks and turns those cutouts into fun stickers. It’s not what you’re looking for, but it’s really neat if you want to make some stickers of your cat and send them in Messages, etc.

Edit: Canva does support native sharing. Also, try PicCollage: free tier works pretty well for this

wow... Canva(free) worked great!!! Even a very old geezer or caveman like me figured out how to do it in less than 30 seconds..... I ended up with a very good picture of my MIL standing on top of a B-2 bomber. (don't worry, only used it for testing purposes)

THANKS!

Can you resize the cat before pasting?

so easy.... a caveman(me) can do it! :)

hold the cat in Photos on the iPhone with iOS 16.... the paste it to any photo opened on the free Canva app....

pinch and zoom will let you make the cat as big or as small as you want. done!

example below:

the original photo where the cat was lifted from.... just some random street cat the I countered during my travels.
