If I preorder from the premier site?

If I put in my preorder on the AT&T premier site and get my phone # ported, when does the porting actually happen? I obviously cannot go without my phone for the week and a half between the preorder and receiving the phone.

So does anyone know when my current phone (T-mobile) will stop working? Will it be after I activate through iTunes or whatever?

Would it be better to wait and port the number after I actually have the phone? If I do this how long does the porting take?

Once you activate the iPhone.....the port takes about 30 min to complete (generally. Could be longer). You can pre order and it will not cancel your tmobile service
