If I Restore, Can Apple Tell I Jailbroke?

ok, i got the iphone dead strip, so i have to go to apple to replace it...

i heard if its jailbroke they wont replace it..?

if i restore will they be able to tell i jailbroke it before?

i have 3.0 if that matters/
