If I restore from an older itunes backup (not icloud), what will happen to the apps that have been added or updated after the backup was made?

If I restore from an older backup, will the apps that were added later be affected?

For updated apps, I believe you get the version of the app you have stored in your iTunes library (apps themselves are not actually part of the backup). As for apps added afterwards, you'll just have to re-install those.
