My iphone 5 is still on 6.1 and I saved my 7.0.4 blobs but I'm not sure I'm quite ready to go to ios7, but ios7.1 is coming out soon. if it does come out, will I be forced to only go to 7.1 if I want ios 7 or can I upgrade to 7.0.4 if I already saved the shsh blobs.

Blobs do nothing for the iphone 5. It will be the most recent version of ios, or you're sticking where you are.

So I should upgrade asap if I want ios 7, as 7.1 is probably on the verge of coming out.

Why not just upgrade right now?

blobs are worthless without a boot room exploit which iPhone 5 doesn't have.

the 5 will eventually be able to downgrade and such due to ih8snow's new boot exploit. its only a matter of time until he releases it. then a5-17 will be bootrom essentially.

His exploit isn't bootrom, I believe it is iboot level (I think that's what it is called) but not bootrom since it is patch-able, also he isn't releasing it.

by the time that iBoot bug ends up being patched by Apple (on a stroke of luck since it's not going to be released publicly), the iPhone 5 would have lost support already

So is there not going to be a way to downgrade from 7.1 to 7.0.4 like you used to be able to do using shsh blobs?
