If I upgrade to 3.0, will my 3G lose a lot of resale value?

FML man... I can't pay $500 for the 3GS, but if I upgrade my firmware to 3.0, it won't be able to be unlocked, right?

good point, 3.0 is coming out finally and I may not upgrade it just so I can keep 2.2 and it unlocked

You can create a custom firmware with the 3.0 software but with the 2.2 baseband so you'll still be able to unlock and run 3.0 at the same time. I think.

No. 3.0 won't talk to the 2.28 baseband. They have other tricks up their sleeves.

If you upgraded your baseband to 2.2.1 then you're hosed anyway.
