All signs point to Jobs announcing iOS5 on Monday (June 6) but when do we think Apple will release it for the iPhone 4? In the past, I believe iOS was announced in April and released in June which would mean 2+ months of beta testing. If they stick to this schedule we could expect it to be released in August and maybe coincide with the release of iPhone 5 (or 4S). Anyway, being that there is no way any of us know for sure, what's your prediction?

Looking at the past, typically the iOS beta periods are about 2.5-3 months long, which would put the iOS 5 release in late August/early September.

Based on that, my prediction is the iPhone/iOS 5 will come out in September at what is normally the annual iPod event. That event is getting kinda dry these days, since the shuffle and nano are fairly limited as to how much more they can do, and the iPod touch is pretty predictable since it generally just gets upgraded to match that years iPhone, so spicing the event up by releasing the new iPhone alongside a new iPod touch would make for a much more interesting event.

My prediction is exactly the same as yours. And I also think the first beta of iOS5 will be available on Monday or at some point that week so that developers can start to learn and use its new functions.

I have tried one beta before (iOS 4 i believe) and it wasn't too bad. Depending on what iOS 5 brings, i may try it again.

Agreed. It makes perfect sense.
Hopefully after WWDC all the rumors will be about the next generation iPhone. They usually start production 2 months before, so by the end of July or beginning of August we should be getting part leaks.
