Remember people in Asia or Europe buying phones with off contract price. Apple want to expand market in China, but Apple failed to see there is lots of good phones with cheaper price tag. For example: Xiaomi phone and Meizu phone. 4500RMB is not cheap by any short of imagination, not at all.

I don't think anyone ever read or heard, directly from Apple, that the 5C was ever meant for "emerging markets".

Then it is even more pointless. It is not like you cannot making colour coding on iPhone 5 case. All you get is for same price, you get a plastic phone with same specification. And honestly, the colour choices aren't so good as well.

The design is like Nokia phone and lesser colour choices.
